Brief Method Summary
The Carbofuran RaPID Assay is a competitive Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). Carbofuran pesticide residues in the sample compete with enzyme (horseradish peroxidase)-labeled Carbofuran for a limited number of antibody binding sites on the inside surface of the test wells. The outcome is visualized with a color development step. Sample concentration is inversely proportional to color development. |
Scope and Application
This method determines carbofuran in water (groundwater, surface water, well water) using immunoassay (enzyme linked immunoabsorbent assay -- ELISA). |
Applicable Concentration Range
0.06 - 5 ug/L |
Interferences
No interferences observed. |
Quality Control Requirements
A control solution at approximately 2.0 ppb of carbofuran is provided with the Carbofuran RaPID Assay kit. It is recommended that it be included in every run and treated in the same manner as unknown samples. |
